The Essentials
The Philosophy: Functional Aesthetics
Structural beauty and functional health are often deeply connected. An enlarged jawline is commonly due to an overactive masseter muscle, which can lead to both a squared facial appearance and physical discomfort from clenching.
Masseter Neuromodulation gently relaxes these powerful chewing muscles and allows the lower face to taper naturally into a softer, more oval or V-shaped profile.
Our longevity philosophy is built on the foundation of purity and sustainability. We believe that what you put into your body matters for your future results. By selecting highly purified formulations, we ensure that your body remains receptive to treatment over the long term, maintaining the same level of effectiveness year after year.

Understanding the Masseter (Jaw) Muscle

The masseter is one of the primary muscles used for chewing. Like any muscle, it can grow in size (hypertrophy) if it is constantly overused through subconscious teeth grinding or heavy clenching.

How Does Jaw Slimming Work?
Neuromodulators work by relaxing muscle contractions in the jaw by temporarily blocking the signal between a nerve and its target muscle.
What Is A Purified Neuromodulator?
A purified neuromodulator undergoes a manufacturing process to remove complexing proteins. These proteins are non-functional; they do not aid in the relaxation of the muscle but can be recognised by your immune system as foreign and therefore trigger an immune response.

Highly Purified
Contains only the active therapeutic component.
Sustainable
Lower risk of your body developing antibodies, which can cause treatments to stop working over time.
Precise
A smaller diffusion radius allows for consistent, predictable relaxation of the targeted muscles with a lower risk of migration.

Jaw Slimming Is Not for Everyone
While jaw contouring with neuromodulators is highly effective for many, it is a clinical procedure that requires careful patient selection. At Wabi, your safety and aesthetic harmony come first, which is why this treatment may not be recommended for everyone.
Aesthetic Concerns:

Significant Skin Laxity
For patients with pre-existing loose or sagging skin in the lower face, slimming the underlying muscle can sometimes lead to a "deflated” appearance, potentially making jowls more prominent.

Sunken Cheeks
If you naturally have very hollow cheeks or high cheekbones, significantly reducing the width of the jaw may exacerbate a "gaunt" look.

Bone-Based Concerns
If your square jawline is primarily due to your underlying bone structure (mandibular angle) rather than muscle thickness, neuromodulators will have a limited effect on the visible width.
Functional & Medical Considerations:
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Neuromuscular Disorders
Active Infections
Dental Alignment
-
As a safety precaution, we do not perform neuromodulator treatments during pregnancy or while nursing.
-
Individuals with conditions such as Myasthenia Gravis or ALS are not suitable candidates due to the way the treatment interacts with nerve-muscle communication.
-
Treatment must be postponed if there is an active skin infection or significant inflammation near the jaw area.
-
Patients with certain complex bite issues or joint-based TMJ (rather than muscle-based tension) may require a multi-disciplinary approach involving a dentist.
What Else Can Neuromodulators Treat?
Beyond jaw contouring, neuromodulators are versatile tools for both refinement and relief:
What to Expect During Your Journey

The Treatment
04
The Evolution
A series of small, precise injections are administered. Most patients describe the sensation as a minor "pinch."
Unlike wrinkle treatments which work in days, jaw slimming takes time. You will notice a softening of the jaw muscle within 2 weeks, with the maximum slimming effect appearing at 4 to 8 weeks.

Dynamic Analysis
Post-Treatment
Your doctor will assess the strength and size of your masseter muscles to determine suitability for jaw slimming and the optimal dosage for your facial structure.
There is minimal downtime. You may experience a slight "tired" sensation when chewing very tough foods for the first week, which is a sign the muscle is beginning to relax. Bruising is rare and if it occurs, can take 5-7 days to resolve.
