LED Light
Therapy

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive, medical-grade treatment that uses visible and near-infrared light to support skin health, recovery and rejuvenation through photobiomodulation. The Dermalux system can deliver three therapeutic wavelengths simultaneously, allowing different skin layers and cellular pathways to be targeted during a single treatment session.

The Science Behind LED Light Therapy

What Is Photobiomodulation?

Photobiomodulation refers to the use of specific wavelengths of light to influence cellular activity.

Within the skin, light energy is absorbed by structures called mitochondria, which are responsible for producing cellular energy. By supporting cellular metabolism and energy production, LED light supports tissue repair, inflammation regulation and normal regenerative processes.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

Different wavelengths of light interact with the skin in different ways.

Why Are Clinic LED Devices
Different From Home Devices?

The effectiveness of LED Light Therapy depends on factors such as wavelength, energy delivery and treatment coverage.

Medical-grade LED systems can deliver clinically established wavelengths at higher energy levels and across larger treatment areas than many home-use devices, allowing multiple skin concerns to be addressed during a single treatment session.

Higher Power Density

Higher Power Density

More energy reaches the target tissue in a shorter treatment time

Uniform coverage

Can LED Light Therapy Support Skin Rejuvenation?

Research suggests that photobiomodulation may influence fibroblast activity and cellular metabolism within the skin.

For this reason, LED Light Therapy is commonly incorporated into skin rejuvenation and regenerative skin health programmes.

As biological remodelling occurs gradually, a series of treatments is generally recommended.

Can LED Light Therapy Be Combined
With Other Treatments?

LED Light Therapy is frequently used as a complementary treatment alongside aesthetic procedures.

Synergistic Combinations:

Lasers

Lasers can address pigmentation, redness, vascular concerns and skin texture, while LDM® may support post-treatment recovery.

What To Expect During Your Journey

02

The Treatment

You will lie comfortably beneath the LED device while selected wavelengths are delivered to the treatment area.

The treatment is painless and produces little to no heat.

04

The Cellular Response

Following treatment, cells continue responding to the delivered light energy as part of the photobiomodulation process.

03

Post-Treatment

05

Progressive Improvement

A detailed skin assessment is performed to understand your concerns and determine the most appropriate LED treatment protocol.

There is generally no recovery period, allowing you to return to normal activities immediately.

As treatments accumulate over time, improvements in skin quality, redness, comfort and overall skin appearance may become increasingly noticeable.
